Sisters are even more awesome

Thought about saving this for later – after my sister has received this in the mail.  BUT I know myself well enough to know if I don’t share now, I never will.  So this spoils the surprise…but whatever.
better picture - not at night!

About 3 years ago (really more like 3 months) my sister got one of those totally cool little mini computers.  She simply asked for a bag to go with her cute little computer.  Right away I attempted this cool design that was in my head.  Yeah, let’s just say there is a reason I don’t write patterns.  They all…well….they all ended up in the trash. (Don’t worry, I was using scrap fabric to get the designs down!)  I finally opted to simplify things and bought the pattern from Sew Spoiled.   She had the measurements all figured out for me!  Our sewing styles are a bit different – so her way of doing things is not exactly like I was used to…but the bag turned out really cute.  Fabric is from Sugar Snap. The lining and the pocket (which you can’t see in this photo) are also prints from this line.

Now I’ve actually finished this little bag for her and will have to mail it out on Tuesday.  Plus the good news is that I’m 90% done with one for myself because sewing was a better option today than harming my child.  My daughter is going to kill me, I’m sure of it.  We showed up to church today and she gets out of the car with ONE shoe.  One shoe?!?!?  She couldn’t find the other.  Of course, she didn’t bother to tell me this before we left the house and apparently it never occurred to her to go find a different pair of shoes.  *sigh*  But she is alive and I almost have a pretty bag for my laptop.

We have big plans for tomorrow.  Ok – not really.  But we are gonna tackle some home improvement things.  So  in case I don’t get on here to say hello…Hope you have a great Labor Day!

That is one great bag! And I’d never guess there was a computer inside. I’m sure your sister will love it. 🙂

Ah, 5 year olds! I escaped to the grocery store today ALONE and it was more wonderful that I could have hoped! Some days you just need to hide from the craziness.

my favorite quote in this whole post – “sewing was a better option today than harming my child.” you have NO idea how many things get sewn in my house for this very reason!!!! LOL!!! btw – your sister is lucky!! 🙂

LOL. Yes, sometimes they push me to my limit. After reviewing my past blogs, it appears that anger drives me to sew quite often. My husband probably wishes I would clean instead. he he

One Shoe! Gotta love it, it also sounds like something my kids would do.

I love the bag as well.

(I also put this comment on another entry of yours, I got confused. So easy to do when you have kids running amok all day.
