Back Yard Work in Progress

Do you feel like we need to go to lunch and catch up?  I do!

Well, we have to start somewhere – right?

We poured concrete to extend the patio area in our backyard.  It wraps around to our side yard now too.

Then we added a playground for the kids….

Moved some dirt around, put in rocks here and there to give the ground some character (besides flat)

Still to come:

lot of plants

another tree

cork or wood chips (under the playground)

grass (of the fake variety)

stain the concrete (has to completely cure)

more rock

fire pit

And by the way, I did none of this.  It was all my better half  🙂

Yes, I do think I’ll keep him around. 😉 The playground has swings that need to be added, but Luke thinks we should get the stuff down on the ground before hanging those. These pictures don’t show all the dimensions of the dirt either – maybe some in my flickr account show it better. it really looks neat – and when it’s planted….it should all come together! I’m really excited about the way it’s turning out.

Looks great! You’ll really enjoy it this spring and summer! (We’re still working on getting dishes out of boxes so we can eat like civilized people!)

Wow!!! Everything is looking great! Kids will love the play area. Yours will be the most popular house on the block. 🙂 Is there anyplace to put a trellis? I loved that feature at your first house. Thanks for sharing all the pictures. Talk to you soon.

Wow! Looks great! Your house is beautiful, too. Makes me a bit homesick…

It’s going to be gorgeous! & I really love your fence… is that what you call it? Fence just sounds too simple. Your man does good work!
