What to do with the front room?

Technically, the front room in our house is supposed to be a formal living room. In reality, the front room has become the location of sewing parties. (BTW, if you are in Tucson, we’re getting together Monday night this month due to other obligations.)

My husband desperately wants it to be a game room with a pool table. I’m not so keen on the idea….until I found these awesome pool tables that have a wooden table top – so it turns into a regular table. Perfect for the sewing parties!!!!

I also want to have floor to ceiling curtains that go over the sliding glass doors, roman shade on the small windows, an awesome fireplace, family photos and more. Have ideas for me? Wanna help?

OOOHhhh! Fun, fun, fun! Love your inspiration pieces. I’ve never understood the “formal” living area. This generation is not in to formal lifestyles. Make it a space you’ll actually use! BTW, how do I get on the invite list for the sewing parties? My evening schedules are a bit tricky with my husband’s school schedule but it looks like fun!

uh oh – I attached my reply to the wrong comment. let’s try again!

Oh Michelle – you think I’m much more organized than I really am. I need to make an email list and I’ll add you to it. Do you have facebook or twitter? I’m on there a lot too and usually post about it 🙂

Joe would vote for a ping pong table too.

yes, well, we have one of those already. I wonder if we could get a ping pong table top for the pool table as well….lots to think about. Too bad funds are limited.

I love all your ideas! I saw that frame idea the other day on twitter and loved it! The pool table with a table top will probably be less likely to bounce around with your serger 🙂 Michelle and I will have to carpool to a sewing night sometime.

yeah, too bad that pool table is crazy expensive. But I have a handy husband and I think we can come up with something! (And it should even look better than a sheet of plywood! 😮 )

Today, while I was at work, my sister stole my iPad and tested to see if it can survive a forty foot drop, just so she can be a youtube
sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views.
I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!
