Say Hello

I’ve been wanting to introduce you for a while. Blog readers, this cute lady is Rachelle. She is helping me out a couple days a week. It became obvious that I needed some help. (Well, I suppose that was obvious years ago!) But I mean help with the fabric business.

I met Rachelle toward the beginning of the year. Actually it was right after Ginger Blossom was released. She found me on Etsy! Since she is in Tucson as well, she asked if we could meet somewhere to get her fabric. Turns out, she lives pretty close! We met at a park. She has an adorable little 2 yr old daughter. So, the kids played and we talked (in between chasing helping the kids!).

So one day, I emailed her to ask her advice on something and mentioned that I was thinking of having someone help cut fabric a couple days a week. She asked if I’d consider her for the job! YAY for me! She’s also helped measure TONS of end of the bolt pieces, organize fat quarters and other fantastically fun things! I am hoping we can start working on some kits for the store.

It’s been fun to have someone to work with! I mean, my ipod is great and all – but the conversations between us are pretty much non-existent. LOL 🙂

Yesterday when I was driving home from your house, I was thinking how much I love my jobs, being a mom and working for you. I couldn’t think of a more perfect and fun job for me right now. Plus you are a great boss 🙂 I love working for you.

Hi Rachelle! I’m impressed that you can cut on that fold with those itty bitty scissors! :o)

Melanie, It’s nice to see how you store all those bolts and bolts of fabric! And I’m sensing that you now gauge how things happen by when a line of fabric was released. In 20 years you’ll be like, “Remember when our house was finished – right about the time I sold my last yardage of the Kiwi Stripe?” And no one will know what you’re talking about. :o)

How great it must be to have a friend that shares the same passion as you and even better, one that you can work on things together. Sounds like a dream! And the mention of “kits” for your store. I’m already looking forward to it! – Renee
