As Lizzy House said on twitter the other day, “I think more people need to think about the actual curating of their inventories.” And that has been my exact plan this year, because as it turns out, Above All Fabric is actually supposed to make money. It’s not just a hobby. 
So where do we go from here? Well to start with – get rid of stuff! The remainder of this month, I’ll be clearing things out.
Amy Butler fabrics and patterns are marked way way down. And after May, only a select few will remain in the shop.
Same goes for much of the sale section. After May, much of this won’t be here anymore. If there is something you’ve been thinking about, now is the time to snatch it up.
There are other sales. Lots of sales. In fact – all Bag patterns are at least 30% off. (sorry, due to contracts, the downloadable patterns are not included.) And there are new awesome prices for much of what isn’t officially on sale.
I have other great new fabrics too – like more solid colors of corduroy! The Flamingo is a perfect pink for Sandi Henderson’s corduroy prints! And the graphite is to die for! (By the way, denim is back in stock!)
So from now on, you should notice a much more intentional shop. If that makes any sense. You may have notice subtle changes already…but more (and bigger) changes are coming. And I hope that it works out cuz I LOVE fabric, I love sewing and I love working for all of you!
And I’d like to give a couple of you subscriptions to Stitch magazine, which only comes out twice a year. The Spring issue is one of my favorites so far, so I decided to get it for the shop. And the Fall issue will be awesome too. Just leave a comment here and you’ll be entered to win both this magazine and the fall one (when it comes out!) International peeps are always welcomed to join in the fun! And if you already have one, leave a comment anyway just because you might win…and I’ll figure something out for you in the meantime!

I love that mag. I really should get a subscription instead of running to my local Barnes & Noble to get one everytime.
Isn’t it great? I will try to have subscription information listed online soon. They are talking about possibly doing 4 issues next year! I hope they do!

This was the first issue of Stitch I’d ever seen and it did look great! Trying to do a better job of actually using the fabric I buy before letting myself buy more, but I was waiting for more denim….

Thanks, Holly! I’m not sure where in CA you can get it either. I agree that it would be expensive if it were *just* a magazine…but this publication has full patterns (with pieces, sizing, everything!) for women, children, baby, gifts, crafts, bags, etc. In fact, one of the patterns is an Oliver & S pattern….and those retail for $15.95…so when you think about it that way, it’s really a great price! I will blog more in detail about the magazine…maybe tonight when I can’t sleep. lol

I don’t think I’ve seen Stitch before? Usually I see projects people make (on Flickr!) when a magazine issue isn’t available any more. A subscription might be a good idea!
