September is National Sewing Month! Woo Hoo!!!! It definitely seems like that is something we need to celebrate over here at Above All Fabric
(yeah, that’s my online shop….just in case you didn’t know!)
I show you things I make all the time, but I really really want to see all your fantastic creations! I want to know what you’re doing with the fabric that gets shipped out of here.
(In fact, my husband has suggested a questionnaire at check out that tells me what you’re planning to do with the fabric. He doesn’t get that some of us buy fabric because we love it!
Don’t worry – your secret is safe with me!)
BUT when you do get around to cutting into it, I do want to know what it turns into!
Here is the Flickr Group.
Go here.
Share your creations!
AND to sweeten the deal during National Sewing Month
(By the way, each time you read that, you must say it in a soccer announcer voice. That’s how it sounds in my head.)
I am going to be featuring items posted to that group each Monday. Today it’s Tuesday, but yesterday doesn’t count because it was Labor Day. And I hadn’t come up with this plan yet.
National Sewing Month
(Just wanted to see if you’re paying attention)
SO – I’m going to blog about things YOU made each Monday (except today – today it’s Tuesday) this month. And if I blog about YOUR items – I will send you a $25 gift certificate to my store!
That’s right – people.
Twenty-five Dollars in cold hard (electronic) cash to buy fabric!
Let’s get this party started!
First up we have this adorable table quilt made with a charm pack (hey you remember my charm pack post – don’t you?) Alisa has a blog here to tell you about this beauty and other great things she has made! I think it turned out great. I love the decorative stitches. Whoever is the lucky recipient of this gift will love it!
Next we have this fabulous apron that Rachelle made. She is teaching a workshop at her church’s Super Saturday in October. The ladies will choose from 3 fabric combos. I have to share those with you too.
Quite Lovely! Wouldn’t you agree?
Thanks for sharing with me! I’ll be in touch to get you the $25 gift certificates!
Oh I’m so excited to see who will be featured next week!!!!
Happy National Sewing Month!
PS. Just so you know – I’m not drunk and I don’t do drugs.
I am just at home.
All day.
With (occasionally without) 3 young children.
All day.
That’s my only excuse.

Wow, wow, wow! I’m am totally shocked. Thank you so very much!! I will email you.
I love it!!!!
I’ve enjoyed the past few posts showing a few of your newly sewn items as well. Hope the kids are all doing well!!!
You crack me up. I’m getting into a sewing mood again. You know what that means? I need a sewing machine!!!! I’m gonna start looking again…oh, and I’m still looking for a DSLR.
You make me laugh. I like that. I wish I sewed…kinda.
This is awesome!!! I joined your flickr group and added some photos
Thanks so much!! Wow! Your post made me in such a good mood, and that was before I even knew I won the $25. Just a happy/funny feel to it. But thanks for showing off my apron and for helping me with the fabric combos… they were so hard to pick!!
Ah – beautiful stuff! I shop at my local quilt shop quite a bit but I went back and found something that I made with fabric from your shop just so I could join the fun!
So good to know you don’t do drugs.
) Didn’t think you did but the confirmation is always nice!
Yea Alisa!! And Rachelle too
I made a table topper with the same charm pack as Alisa (my sister) without even knowing we were working on it at the same time or that we even had the same charms. I love those coincidences. I added pictures of mine to your flickr group.
How funny that you were working on them at the same time! Thanks for adding your pictures too!
