I’m hoping you’ve had a chance to look at the new design on my website! Believe it or not, I’m still working on some exciting features (time…why don’t I have more of it?), but I thought I’d show you around a bit…get you comfortable with a few changes!
First though – I have to ask your opinion on something. You see – I can only figure out how to add a featured area above the main category buttons.
See the Amy Butler logo? That is featured because all her fabrics are on sale….and I want to have an area that I can show you things like that – make them stand out…ya know?!?!? Sometimes it may be a new line or a new pattern, or a super sale….you get the idea.
But I also want the main category buttons to be easy to view and find….like in this picture. No scrolling required, easy peasy to browse.
So what are your thoughts? Do you hate scrolling down to see the categories sometimes? Do you like the featured area? It is easy that way to find out what is on sale or new (depending on what I feature) And if the featured area is not on top, then it’s below those categories, so would you scroll down to see it? Or would you miss it since it’s not seen right away? Hmmm….well, let me know! Of course, I’ll probably flip flop back and forth several times anyway. LOL
Do you see along the very top? There is a button that says What’s New – guess what? When you click on that it will show you all the products that have been added to my site in the last 30 days! WOO HOO!
This is huge for me because now the website will maintain that automatically – I no longer have to copy products into a separate area and then remember to remove them when they aren’t so new! Sometimes an old item will show up in there – but only when I accidently delete it and have to re do the listing.
Now I have to get back to listing many many new fabrics! SEW much fun!!!!! Be back again soon to show you some more new features!

Ok first love the design. 2nd, Personally, i like to see things divided into categories – i like to be able to click on fabrics and see them all – and not see all the patterns if i’m shopping for fabric. But i also like to be able to shop for a single designer if that’s what i’m looking for, and not see all the other designers. Most important: I don’t like having to click on a bazillion pages to see all the fabric – a “view all” feature is a must for me – but then again i have a pretty fast internet connection. I have no idea how hard it is to input any of these into a storefront so this is just me relaying my online shopping preferences here. Something i’m pretty good at if you ask my hubby – so take it w/ a grain of salt.
Yes! And that is why I have the main categories broken down into Fabrics, Patterns, Ribbons, etc….for shopping ease.
Now the 30 days thing cannot be broken down – that is unless I manually go in and edit the whole site manually each 30 days, which isn’t an option for me at this point in my life!
What I’m wondering about right now, however, is the featured area (the Amy Butler is up now) Do you like that or not?
I LOVE the featured area button…. I think it might look nice below the others, so that we won’t have to scroll….. but if it can’t be, it can’t be! I guess I will make do
… having to scroll 3 inches down the page is better than not having the feature! The new site is lovely, easy to use & I love it.
Thanks – you know that I’ve been trying and trying – I can’t get it unless I want to redo the WHOLE front page. And I don’t – not right now! So this is the way it stays for a while!
It looks awesome and is easy to navigate. unfortunately, I’m trying to deplete my stash before new purchases! do you know how much self control that takes?!
Thanks! Ha ha – yes I KNOW how hard it is
Good for you though!
LOVE the new website and the fun new features! Keep up the great work!
PS . . love those coupon codes too!
